Chefs Across the Water

Chefs Across the Water events not only tantalize the taste buds but also advocate for the use of local, organic, and sustainable ingredients, promoting the health and economic well-being of the community. Proceeds contribute to the Salt Spring Agricultural Alliance, supporting the implementation of the community’s Area Farm Plan.

The “Glowtini” Contest

Salt Spring Island, BC

Participating restaurants concoct their best festive “Glowtini” Cocktails. The only requirement is that the establishment uses a local Salt Spring Island ingredient. Witness mixologists expertly craft their own version infusing island flavours, like red beets to add festive colour. Join us at various local hotspots to celebrate community and creativity this Christmas.

Huffington Post Travel – The lack of snow also means that ‘Santa’ trades in his sleigh for a float plane. Also unique to the island are Salt Spring Dollars, legal currency that travellers can print at home and spend on everyday products or on Glowtinis, a local special Christmas drink.
